Why people don’t listen to their God??

It is sensitive issue yet puzzle me sometimes. We pray our god still we behave differently than OUR god. I will take some examples.

Forgiveness is key to Christianity. Jesus died preaching it. "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." . Most of America pray him. Yet they elect Donald Trump, attack Iraq, Afghanistan etc.

Modern day Krishna Sudama

In Bhagwat Gita, there is a story of Krishna and Sudama, their friendship and their life long commitments for each other. People still treat their friendship as reference point in history. In modern day , it is rare now. It may be because of change in social dynamics.

In current society , we are observing many changes. People are giving too much value to success and failures. In ancient society, poverty was normal and people respected the poor as “UNFORTUNATE”. Brahmin was supposed to be poor and they live on begging. That was a norm and they accept it with grace.

Habits of happy people

Happiness and peace are two big objectives for all. Everyone is dealing with problems, some we know , some we don’t know. Happiness is choice. No one can be bigger than peace and sleep of mind. Balance in us brings back sense and direction. Happy people lives their life for bucket list and not for CV. Managing focus in big challenge nowadays. Noise is too high. Lets discuss habits of happiness.

Talent vs excellence..

Once upon a time, Picasso was sitting at a bar and whiling his time away. A star-struck fan spotted him and approached him with a request—could he make a quick sketch on a paper napkin?

Picasso acquiesced and in about a minute sketched a dove. The delighted fan could not believe his luck and thanked the artist profusely. Picasso though growled and demanded a huge amount of money. The admirer was stumped, and said the demand was an impossible one. Because it took just a minute to sketch the dove.

The artist wasn’t amused and growled right back: “No, it took me 40 years.”

Jobless society

Bill gates has urged everyone to read 5 books in this summer. One book is “Homo Deus” by Israeli writer - Yuval Noah Harari. He has already given one more best seller book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind,"

Harari is strong believer of Artificial intelligence and its impact on mankind. According to him “Next 2-3 decades would be transformative”. World will move from homo-sapiens (man) to machine. Carbon to silica. Intelligent life will change its base from carbon to silica.

Lean way of life..

Being lean is like being minimalist. As we grow old fat grows naturally. We have to cut it from time to time. I divide PERSONAL FAT in three types

  • Emotional
  • Physical
  • Mental

Let’s discuss one by one

a)    Emotional fat: It is a slow killer. It brings depression. It chokes your productivity. Attachment, possessiveness, or hate are just type of this fat. Person can’t think clearly. It simply takes over your mind towards darkness. Very few people have control over it. Many don’t know they are depressed.

Why background music is important in leadership?

I want to compare 3 recent cases for leadership – Bahubali, Sachin and Modi. In books, leadership may be about vision, truth, skill, attitude, values, or transparency. Many people have it. It is easy to find all these things in a common hard working person. But they are not public leaders.

Difference comes from background music. Common man ignores importance of drummers, chanters, and background music. You may have observed that whenever bahubali arrives on screen, there is huge chanting “Bahubali –bahubali “ … That creates aura and add followers.

Man has 100 yrs – Stephen Hawking

Stephen hawking has hawkish view on humanity. We have just 100 yrs and man should move to another planet. His hawkish view may not be that right but no one would disagree that humanity has definite end date. The threat is real.

“With climate change, overdue asteroid strikes, epidemics and population growth, our own planet is increasingly precarious.”- Stephen hawking
