All self help books are filled with productive sutras. I see around so many people running daily schedule like machine, as if, life is race of productivity. Everyone wants more in limited time. It make sense too when TIME is limited commodity.

But at some point we need to review the big question - Are we barking on wrong tree? . We have to mend our ways or goals. Life is every changing in current world. We have to adept in it and make life worth living to make an impact.

There are two conflicting ways or quotes

Life is like a game. Impact is a true measure of how effectively you lived. Earlier generation was living in scarcity and its purpose was more of accumulation of assets. Next generation is more about pleasure. This generation is bridge between the two.

We have different prospective. It is more so in today environment when we discuss political topics – Modi vs non Modi fans. Emotionality takes over rationality.

Science says no human can be super human. But we human believes in gods and saviours. We pray them.

Krishna saw all aspects of the issue. He was the only one who discussed the matter with Pandavas and all key people in Kaurvas. He tried his best to find solution. He wanted no war. And He tried his best.

All rich and powerful have one big concern and question, who will succeed after them and how well ? Will he able to take legacy ahead ?

Life is changing fast , so our social values. Earlier power or money used to stay with one family for long. Now it just slips away as untrained successor have no clear plan or skill. Longest surviving legacies have few examples in recent history like Mughals ruler of India, Queen of England, Congress party of India, or TATA group of India. Power. Money. or legacy passed from one generation to another smoothly.

Driving change is business's oldest function. In fast moving changes, you have complexities to manage both systems and processes and flexibility of work. Corona has changes many things. Distributed work places has given advantages too for knowledge workers. Life cycle of business has reduce drastically. If a business to survive more than two generations, it needs many things like loyal employees, technology addiction, political well wishes, and visionary leaders , along with many other things.

Brain has tendency to move around. Autopilot is default game. We keep moving arount hurt, pain, loss, or dreams. It is easy for brain to do it. Focus on one thing is difficult. That’s why multi tasking so easy. In mobile world, attention deficit is so common. With age time barriers reduces so we feel lost what to do what not to do.

Here are some thoughts on it

Private journey is full of transactions and projects. We jump from one project to another, one company to another in entire time line. That happens in safe zone of private employers. Unaware of many environmental shocks , we live 9 to 5 job and do it consistently over and over.

In end, we find big transition point – THE RETIREMENT. I remember a movie scene from Shawshank Redemption, A Librarian did suicide after retirement. His mind could not accept the change from transaction after transaction to do nothing.

Effective people are productive. They know tasks well and execute them well. They don't care of success or failure. They just know good habits and have focus on them. Result comes slow and steadily.
